I got this from Jonathan's blog. And I thought I should really post it.

Then my revered teacher, the Geog dude, lost his cool because he believes that teachers should actually start to make a revolution against the pesky retarded human babies. Well here's how my version goes, but in a way its gonna just be a controversial thing.
'What is the matter with the whole lot of you today?' Benjamin asked in a mildly agitated tone, ascending with each word. 'You all seem very restless you know?' he continued.
He paused. Gazing at everyone in the class, with a look of deep hurt in his eyes. 'Do you know that we, teachers are sick of having to put up with you people? We are the ones who are taking the frontline for you in the exams, when actually you are the ones supposed to take it.' He paused again. He tried calmly. 'Not for us, not for your parents, but for yourselfs!'
'If you're not interested you all may get out, i can end the lesson right now. I don't mind, if you can't face the fact that your exams are a matter of 2 weeks, and yet you people are treating it as if nothing is happening at all,' Benjamin paused, arms akimbo, but not in that warped fashion, he continued...
'Down there you are talking, distracting the whole class, when there are a few of them here, struggling to focus on the lesson, and you just don't stop. Why is that so ah?'
(Fast forward... After all the reprimanding.)
'You know how lucky you people are? In Singapore all of you are given education, yet you think your life sucks, school is boring, you HATE to come to school but you seem as if you don't have a choice.' Paused, once more, with a deep breath before continuing, as if guilty that he is giving such a scolding.
'Why do you all come to school, why? Is it cos your parents force you to come, you don't have a choice, or isit because of your friends? Seriously if not for these 2 main reasons, i doubt you even want to come to school, cos you HATE studying.'
'You think reading a book, studying hard for exams just to achieve good marks is a stressful and tiring thing, but do you know who are the ones who are much more tired than you or not? People out there sought for education yet you people reject it. Kids these days are really too spoilt ah.'
'Do you actually know, there was this RJC guy, who killed himself just because he thought his penis was too small. Or short. 10 years of education, taught him practically nothing, he can't even value his life. 10 years of the most prestigious education any kid could have in Singapore. And he just gave it all up and commited suicide just because he thought his penis was short. Its ridiculous right?'
'Thats the thing with Singapore's education lah, the kids are so poor things. They are forced to study so many subjects when they don't even have to apply these next time. So why are they even studying these stuff in the first place? They should just study what they like for a couple of years or so and end up being some gene-scientist, or some bomb-engineer. Why study so hard for something they don't even like?'
'They just study just because they think getting good marks equals to results, equivalent to getting rewards too. So its like teaching a monkey. If you train a monkey to give the answer to 2 + 2, he will someday come up with 4. Cos everytime you don't give it a banana when it doesn't hit 4, he will know. So its like regurgitating all the facts back to the examiner, there's absolutely no point in learning. Its not about the whys and hows, but about what is the answer.' Frustration seemed to be let off after this point.
'Thats what our education has become to. You people are no different from the monkeys. Why be so miserable? Forget it. Don't study if you don't want to! You know i have a few facts, maths and science facts that i remember deep in my heart till today, not because i have to but because i want to, at least i made an effort to remember the things i liked to do in my school years, they don't even have anything to do with my job now!'
'You people on the other hand, simply throw back everything to the teachers. Whatever they teach you, you just forget everything when the holidays come. Like, OH... holidays are here, exams are over, let's forget everything.'
The whole class remained damn silent, everyone was looking at each other with a stoned expression, looking for the very culprit to target.

Yes. It was an awesome scolding. And I know what you're thinking now. But I have got absolutely-totally no idea how Jonathan managed to remember all that Mr Tan said too.
